The hardware quality is the same tier — the difference is the ecosystem is open instead of closed.

Control4's dealer-only model means the homeowner can't make meaningful changes without going back to a dealer — and we service too many Sydney homes stuck in exactly that position with legacy proprietary systems. Apple Home gives you a system you genuinely own: you can edit scenes and automations yourself, any licensed integrator can work on it, and the device ecosystem is open. We'd rather earn your repeat business by being good, not by being unavoidable.

Yes. Apple Home supports HomeKit, Matter, and Thread — open standards backed by virtually every major smart home manufacturer. That means thousands of certified products across lighting, blinds, locks, cameras, climate, sensors, garage doors, and appliances, with new Matter devices arriving constantly and no driver development required. Control4 devices must have a certified driver to join the system. We also bridge wired systems like C-Bus and DALI into Apple Home, so even legacy infrastructure isn't excluded.

Complete packages start at $12,000 — covering design, hardware, licensed installation, programming, and handover. Whole-home projects with blinds, climate, security, and audio are quoted on scope after a consultation. Because there are no dealer programming fees, no proprietary controllers, and no ongoing service contracts, the total cost of ownership is significantly lower than a comparable proprietary system — both upfront and over the life of the home.

In most cases, yes. For C-Bus and DALI homes we bridge the existing wired system directly into Apple Home — no rewiring, no switch replacement, and your infrastructure keeps working exactly as it does now, just with a far better interface. For Control4 homes it depends on what's installed: the lighting circuits, motorised blinds, and much of the physical hardware can often be retained and re-controlled, while the proprietary controllers are retired. We'll assess what's reusable during the consultation and quote accordingly.

Not at all — the difference is you get to choose. We support every system we install and are a phone call away for faults, changes, and expansions. But because Apple Home is an open ecosystem, you're never captive: any competent integrator can service the system, day-to-day changes need no technician at all, and off-the-shelf replacement hardware is available from any retailer. That's the opposite of the dealer-dependency model — support because you want it, not because you're locked into it.
